Pacesetters as they have always been known for, Atwima Kwanwoma Rural Bank has once again proved that they are a force to reckon with as far as rural banking is concerned in Ghana.
Having topped all rural banks and winning an enviable Platinum medal in the 7th Ashanti excellent awards in 2009 the bank in 2010-2011 decided to give back to society by upping their efforts in fulfilling their corporate social responsibilities.
This move culminated in the bank being awarded a gold medal in the corporate social responsibility category in the 8th Ashanti financial excellent awards which took place in the plush Golden Tulip, Kumasi City Hotel.
Organised under the auspices of the Manhyia Palace, the official seat of the Asantehene, the award ceremony was aimed at promoting excellence in the financial sector in the Ashanti region and enhancing healthy competition among financial service providers.
The audience went gay as the applause was deafening when the name of the bank was mentioned at the durbar grounds indicating their support and admiration for the bank.
The Bank also won gold medal in deposit mobilization and a silver medal in loan portfolio.
Throwing light on the awards won by the bank, the Vice Chairman of the Bank, Mr. Patrick Owusu who led a delegation to represent the bank, said he was humbled for the honor done the bank and assured the general public that the bank would continue to be sensitive to the needs of the business community and strive hard to develop products that would help the large un bank population to have access to affordable banking.
