Two new directors elected to serve on AKRB board

Atwima Kwanwoma Rural Bank Ltd has observed its twenty eight (28th) Annual General Meting (AGM) at its head office at Pakyi No. 2. The occasion was marked by series of events which all went well to the admiration of the shareholders and other invited guest.

The occasion was climaxed with a very competitive election which was to elect new directors in place of those retiring by rotation.

Out of five highly qualified candidates who contested for the high office of the Bank ,a 56 year old Mr. Amoah Afrifa, an educationist who also doubles as the Assemblyman for the Dominase Electoral Area in the Bekwai Municipal  pulled 208 votes to book a seat in the Board room of Ghana’s biggest Rural Bank.

Hon. Afrifa holds a Bachelors degree in education from the University of Education – Ghana. It is expected that Hon. Afrifa would bring to bear his rich experience in Public administration and education to help improve the affairs of the bank.

In a related development, 59 year old James Owusu-Bonsu also secured 137 Votes of the valid votes cast to become a member of the Board of Directors of the bank.

Mr. Owusu is a Process Engineer and holds Msc. in Petroleum engineering from the Institute of Petrol and Gas- Romania.  He has served in various highly rated institutions such as the Petroleum department of Ghana, Ministry of Fuel and power and the National Energy Board. He managed VANEF STC from 2000- 2002.

His vast working experience spanning form 1982 puts him in the right light to help in the corporate governance of the bank.
